VIKON’s journey is defined by nearly three decades of continuous engineering innovation, industrial evolution, and technological advancement.
1997

In 1997, we developed China's first electric treadmill, initiating the domestic electric fitness equipment industry. Building on this, in 2003 we created China's first commercial motorized treadmill, launching the modern commercial fitness sector and establishing our enduring leadership in engineering and manufacturing innovation.
1997 – 2002

Engineering Foundations

Founded in 1997 as China's fitness equipment industry was emerging, our engineering platform focused on building core technical capabilities. This foundation enabled the creation of China's first electric treadmill, setting the stage for future commercial innovation.
2003 – 2005

Industry Breakthrough – The Birth of Commercial Electric Treadmills

In 2003, we developed and mass-produced China’s first commercial electric treadmill, achieving multiple critical engineering breakthroughs. This milestone transitioned electric treadmills into commercial-grade equipment, advancing China's fitness industry into the era of commercial electrification.
2006 – 2012

Industrialisation & Manufacturing Scale

To meet rapidly growing market demand, we established large-scale industrial manufacturing and quality management systems. This enabled a shift from engineering-led production to industrial-scale operations, greatly enhancing product consistency, reliability, and delivery capacity.
2013 – 2018

Performance Advancement & Intelligent Control

With a mature manufacturing platform, R&D shifted to performance enhancement and intelligent control, yielding advances in efficient drive systems, precision control algorithms, constant power platforms, and intelligent calibration. This period also saw high-precision power measurement and constant power control reach full industrial maturity, enabling elite-level training applications.
2019 – 2022

Smart Systems & Self-Powered Technology

In response to the demand for intelligent and sustainable solutions, we achieved key breakthroughs in self-powered treadmills, intelligent resistance control, predictive diagnostics, and data-driven analytics. This evolution transformed professional fitness equipment from mechanical products into intelligent training systems, ushering in a new era of data-enabled performance training.
2023 – Present

The Birth of VIKON & Global Expansion

VIKON emerged as an independent global professional brand after decades of engineering refinement, dedicated to providing high-performance, intelligent, and commercial-grade training solutions. It now operates with global headquarters in the UK and integrated R&D and manufacturing centers in Asia, serving markets across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific while supporting commercial gyms, elite performance centers, medical rehabilitation institutions, and research facilities worldwide.
